BabyDoc Film was founded in Turin in 2007 by Enrico Giovannone and Andrea Parena. From the very beginning, it distinguished itself as a creative hub where production, writing, directing, cinematography, and post-production of documentary films for cinema and television are combined. In 2012, Francesca Frigo, who had collaborated with BabyDoc since its inception, joined the company and is now a co-owner alongside Andrea Parena.
Over time, in addition to its established work in documentary cinema, BabyDoc Film has expanded into fiction filmmaking, consistently creating opportunities for new creative experiences.
The works produced over the years have participated in various festivals, including the Venice Film Festival, the International Competition at the Locarno Film Festival, the Torino Film Festival, Cinéma du Réel, Visioni dal Mondo, and many others. Throughout its history, BabyDoc has also won prestigious film awards, such as the Joris Ivens Award at Cinéma du Réel and the David di Donatello for Best Documentary.
